About the artists: Zalyvakha Opanas (1925-2007) - Ukrainian painter. Renowned human rights activist . He studied at Irkutsk Art School (1944-1946). Graduated Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad (1960). Artist Tyumen Hood Foundation (1960-1961). Artist of Ivano-Frankivsk Hood Foundation (1961-1965). He served punishment under Article 62 of Criminal Code of Ukraine (for "anti-Soviet agitation and propaganda") - 5 years in camp number 385 (Mordovia) (1965-1970). When released from the camp, married to Daria, niece Stepan Bandera. In 1980s, experiments in the field of easel and monumental sculpture. In 1988, after years of prohibition, organized a solo exhibition of the artist in Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv. Solo exhibition in Kiev (1989) and thereafter O.Zalyvaha - active exhibitor numerous exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad (Toronto, London, New York). Vasyl Stus Prize (1989).
