Bronze fire-gilt Tibet, 18th century Dimensions: Height 25 cm Weight: 2585 grams Here Manjushri Bodhisattva is depicted seated in lotus position on a double reverse lotus throne with beaded rim. The Bodhisattva is wielding a flaming sword in the right hand above the head, the other hand is raised holding a lotus flower growing on his side. A wavy robe with ornamental brim covers the legs fastened with a beaded belt around the waist. Lots of jewellery adorn the Bodhisattva and is highlighted with stone inlay of turquoise and red colour. From the slender waist the upper body is slightly tilted to the left, creating a beautiful curve. The face is gently smiling with downcast eyes. The statue is sealed at the bottom.
