Carved cinnabar lacquer ware plate China, Made by Qian Long workshop (1711-1799) Dimensions: Diameter 33 cm, Height 5,8 cm Weight: 1010 grams The bowl is decorated with a repetitive pattern of bats over ocean waves, a common depiction for blessings of longevity "as deep as the ocean". Known to be hanging upside down and in still motion for long time, bats are a symbol of longevity. Also, their Chinese translation is "fu", which is the same word for "good luck" or "blessing". The center is decorated with three peaches, also a symbol of immortality and longevity, and some leaves floating about.
