Gilt bronze China, Ming Dynasty, Yong Le mark (1403 - 1424) Dimensions: Height 14 cm by 9 cm Weight: 597,6 grams Seated Tara on double reverse lotus base with beaded rims. She is seated with her right foot supported by a lotus flower stemming from the base, her other foot drawn to her body. She is wearing a long wavy garment on her legs fastened by a festooned belt around the hips. Her right hand is showing the gesture dispensing of boons, the other is lifted in front of her heart with thumb and ring finger touching. A lotus flower is growing from each of her hand palm. Her torso and arms are decorated with lots of jewellery and chains. Her head is looking to the right side, wearing ear pendants and a five-pointed tiara enclosing her chignon.
