A Dutch marquetry eight-day longcase clock with moonphase and automaton, with a four pillar rack and bell striking movement with anchor escapement and linkages to operate both the moonphase and automaton now applied to a brass break-arch dial incorporating rolling moon and subsidiary seconds dial to the engraved centre bearing script Will Gib, Rotterdam, the Roman numeral chapter ring with arcaded minute ring and with twin cherub and crown pattern spandrels to angle beneath rocking warship automata to arch, in a case overall decorated with floral trails into a walnut ground with raised shaped-top superstructure and break-arch frieze to hood over arched door flanked by canted angles to trunk, on bombe plinth base with paw feet, 257cm (101ins) high
