An Oyster veneered box, probably incorporating late 17th century elements, the hinged lid enclosing velvet and thread material lining, 8cm high, 28cm wide, 21cm deep, together with an olive and Sorrento ware box, the lid with peasant scene, 8cm high, 28cm wide, 16.5cm deep and a walnut platform dressing mirror, 62cm high, 42cm wide, 21cm deep (3)
Condition Report:
All with Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use,
The oyster box with old splits and cracks, chips, losses and some replacements to veneers and mouldings, previous with a lock (now missing and with hole where this has been).
The velvet fabric with old losses and tears, previously this box was divided inside and these divisions have been removed and the holes to the sides of the box where these have been.
The baize to the underside is later applied.
The Sorrento box wiht some old splits and cracks and signs of glued repair, there is a lock but there are no keys - the box is unlocked. old chips losses and replacements to veneers.
The surface is dry and may benefit from a sympathetic clean and polish
