, 19th century, modelled seated and with bared teeth, each with indistinctly carved lettering to rear, 68cm high, the bases 30cm square
Condition Report:
The Gargoyles' surfaces are weathered overall, and there is some moss and lichen to the recesses.
Due to weathering, there is some loss of definition, and there are some old losses to the nails, ears and other extremities (these look worn and old). Each has some minor chipping/nibbling to the edges of the base. One has an old repair to the cheek where a small circular plug with a cement-like material and fine crack can be discerned. This gargoyle has also lost part of its mouth, where there is similar grey residue. The other has a horizantal hairline crack to its neck
