The guardian statue holding a kongo (vajra) in one hand and wearing a neatly incised skirt under his protruding belly and a finely carved garland draped around his shoulders. His expression is wrathful with the mouth wide open. The statue is surrounded by four painters, two standing on platforms and painting the much larger statue with their paintbrushes, while one painter hands a bowl to another. Signed.
