India, 19th century. A beautiful example of a Chola style miniature bronze, wherein the goddess stands in the classical tribhanga position on a lotus pedestal that arises from a square base. She holds in her right hand a lotus bud, while her left hand elegantly drops along her body. She is draped in a pleated sari and is well ornamented with a conical crown and broad waist belt.
