South India, 19th century. A unique miniature bronze wherein a dog stands on a rectangle pedestal. The dog most likely is a representation of Lord Bhirava’s dog.
Condition: The bronze is made from two parts and the dog was likely previously slid into the base but now is fixed. Provenance: Parisian private collection.
