Description Florence Nightingale (British, 1820-1910), the founder of modern nursing as well as a social reformer and pioneering statistician. Three-page letter on her black bordered stationery dated July 12, 1882, to a friend named Lydia whom she knew well enough to have her stay at her home. Dimensions are: open size, 8 7/8 inches X 7 1/8 inches; 22.5 cm X 18.1 cm. All measurements are approximate.
