Bronze gilded Buddha statues of Ming Dynasty in China .Bronze gilded Buddha statues of Ming Dynasty in China.This statue is made of bronze and decorated with silver patterns. The bodhisattva wears a five leaves crown and has a simle on his lips. The buddha sits in lotus position on a lotus platform, wearing a robe which engraved with patterns of the buddhist eight treasures. The lotus platform contains a round lotus throne and a square pedestal. The top and bottom edges of square pedestal is surrounded by lotus petals, a vajra pestle lies in the center of the front side, two auspicious beast symmetrically distributed on both sides of it.
PROVENANCE:
From The Collection of David Garrison (July 18, 1948-) Morehead City, NC. He joined the Air Force in July 1968. He did his basic training in San Antonio, Texas, and then went to technical school at Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois. In 1971, he married the love of his life, Patty Madsen. The family traveled with him as he fulfilled his duties with the Air Force. In 1984, they moved to Bethany beach,?Deleware where he resided for the rest of his life. David obtained an Associate's Degree through the Community College of the Air Force. During his career in the Air Force, he achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He retired from the Air Force in 1993 after 26 years of service. Not one to slow down, he started a new career as a contractor at FAA, then Tinker Air Force Base. His final retirement was in January of 2016.
