A chinese gilded buddha statue .The whole buddha statue is gilt. The buddha sits in "Calling The Earth to Witness" posture on a double lotus throne, wears five leaves crown, necklace and decorations on ears, neck, wrists, arms and ankles. A ribbon goes through the two elbows and keeps flying behind the buddha's head. The buddha has slightly closed eyes and an amiable expression.
PROVENANCE:
From The Collection of David Garrison (July 18, 1948-) Morehead City, NC. He joined the Air Force in July 1968. He did his basic training in San Antonio, Texas, and then went to technical school at Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois. In 1971, he married the love of his life, Patty Madsen. The family traveled with him as he fulfilled his duties with the Air Force. In 1984, they moved to Bethany beach,?Deleware where he resided for the rest of his life. David obtained an Associate's Degree through the Community College of the Air Force. During his career in the Air Force, he achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He retired from the Air Force in 1993 after 26 years of service. Not one to slow down, he started a new career as a contractor at FAA, then Tinker Air Force Base. His final retirement was in January of 2016.
