About the artist: He was born on February 8, 1934 in the village of Zarichovo (now Perechyn district of Zakarpattia region). He graduated from seven classes of a rural school. In 1948 he entered the Uzhgorod School of Applied Arts in the department of painting. After his successful graduation in 1953 he studied at the Kiev Choreographic School.
From 1955 to 1958 he served in the Soviet Army. After demobilization he was hired in the dance group of the Transcarpathian Honored Folk Choir.
From 1961 to 1967 he studied at the correspondence department of the Faculty of History and Theory of Fine Arts of the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. Repin (teacher of the specialty - Plotnikov VI). In connection with his studies he was transferred to work as a poster artist of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic. After the Philharmonic he worked as a graphic artist in various organizations of Uzhgorod, at the same time took an active part in the creative life of the Transcarpathian organization of the Union of Artists and began to participate in paintings at regional and later national exhibitions. His teachers by profession were Transcarpathian artists J. Bokshay, A. Erdely, F. Monailo, A. Kotska.
Working as a graphic artist in the art and production plant of the Art Fund of the USSR in 1976-1978 he worked as executive secretary of the Transcarpathian organization of the Union of Artists, in 1982-1985 he was chief artist, and in 1986-1987 director of this plant.
In 2008 he won the Joseph Bokshay and Adalbert Erdeli Prize for his work "Picturesque Autumn".
