Description A Dutch marquetry inlaid three tier wall shelf, late 19th century. Shelf has elaborate floral marquetry across the entire piece. The upper panel has an urn flanked by two birds. The lower panel has a central portrait of a gentleman with the name Ripperda below, flanked by two nude reclining women holding cornucopias. 34" x 53 3/4" x 6 1/4" Shipping: This lot does not qualify for in house shipping. Provenance: From the Estate of Delia Macomb Spencer Field (1853-1937), second wife of Marshall Field, and by descent in her niece Catherine Spencer Eddy Beveridge’s family. The Ripperda are a prominent family that originated in Netherlands and were part of the German, Austrian, Spanish and Dutch nobility.
