Description A pair of Chinese export porcelain famille verte covered jars. Qing dynasty, early 19th century. Medium tall neck, with landscape design. Main body depicts Chinese ancient battlefield. Comes with covered lids, design on cover consists of landscape with flowers on edge of top. Foo lions on the top of lids. High shoulder, with band of zig-zag design between black lines. Approximately: 24" x 8 1/2". Condition: Age wear, glaze pops and stains to the body and bottom. ++One has been broken and mended; repair to the cover and body; one crack to the bottom rim; abrasion to the rim. ++ One chip to the cover, repair to the cover; cracks to the bottom rim. Provenance: Provenance: From the Estate of Delia Macomb Spencer Field (1853-1937), second wife of Marshall Field, and by descent in her niece Catherine Spencer Eddy Beveridge’s family.
