Description SYBIL EDWARDS (Canadian b. 1944) A GROUP OF ELEVEN OP ART EGGS, painted?eggshells, the exteriors with abstract multicolor optical illusion geometric motifs in a variety of sizes, largest height: 6", diameter: 4 1/2". Note: A whimsical combination of mid-century op art with folk art; the present collection including large bird eggs, an outsider format typical of folk art, bulges the hand painted two dimensional mathematical algorithms. The use of bright color emphasizes color theory initiated by artists such as Josef Albers and Bridget Riley during the 1950s and 1960s. Provenance: Personal Collection of Roy H. Van Horn, Houston, Texas.
