Height: 18" Diameter: 17 3/4" Note: Philip (1907-1987) and Kelvin (b. 1937) LaVerne, a remarkable father and son team whose talented work might be defined as artisan furniture yet this does not seem appropriate for the fine quality and originality of design, materials, and construction found in each of their tables, cabinets, and pedestals. Their use of bronze with various patinations, textures, and applications resulted from years of experimentation including burying bronze slabs in certain treated soils for lengthy periods. The "Après Picasso" side table offered here exhibits many of their talents successfully combined in a veritable sculptural ode to Picasso.
