Description A SIX PIECE GORHAM "ATHENIC" STERLING SILVER TEA/COFFEE SERVICE, MARKED, 1901, in the Art Nouveau taste with repoussé and engraved bands of single leaves on conforming stippled ground and line reserves, surmounted by an applied bud form finial and mounted with "C" form handles, verso stamped "Athenic," above Gorham's lion, anchor, and G marks over "STERLING" and each numbered individually A2871 through A2875, followed by A2877, each stamped with hourglass year mark for 1901, comprising a?two and one-half pint coffeepot, a?two-pint teapot, a two-handled lidded sugar bowl, a cream pitcher, a two-handled waste bowl with vermeil interior, and a lidded water pitcher, total approximate weight including handles and finials: 113.75 troy oz.; together with an associated Rococo Revival two-handled tray of oval form and centering engraved leafy details within a reticulated border enclosed by bead and rod cast trim alternating "C" scrolled cartouches, flanked by stylized cornucopia and acanthus cast handles, length: 30 3/8", depth: 21".
