Description A LARGE KPM HAND PAINTED "FRüHLING" PORCELAIN PLAQUE, MARKED, SIGNED, BERLIN, 19TH CENTURY, of rectangular form and centering a dark haired beauty wearing an ethereal white gown draped with a long crimson cloak while holding a spray of springtime flowers, standing next to her lovely maiden companion attired in billowing yellow robes and surrounded by playful cherubs with an adoring sprite bearing an offering of leafy floral stems, set amidst blossoming grasses and foliage before a distant mountainous landscape, artist's signature lower right "H. G?rner," verso brown ink inscribed "Frühling," (Spring), top right brown ink inscribed "Rob. Pilz / Vienna," top left impressed marks of a scepter over "K.P.M," top center incised numbers "22 1/2 - 18," mounted within an 1870s red velvet lined and faux bois painted wood frame, excluding frame, height: 22 3/4", width: 18 1/4".? ? ? ? Note: H. G?rner is recorded as having been a painter for the Konigliche Porzellan Manufaktur or K.P.M. in Berlin during the 19th century.
