Description TWENTY LEATHER BOUND VOLUMES, "Courtiers and Favorites of Royalty," EDITION DES AQUARELLES, MERRILL AND BAKER, LONDON AND NEW YORK, CIRCA 1903, with elaborate gilt-tooled deep blue Moroccan leather spine and front/back boards with gilt lines enclosing floral stems cornered by fleur de lys, opening to interior boards with gilt tooled deep blue leather framing a red panel cornered by gilt fleur de lys opposite undecorated red leather covered fly page, illustrated frontispiece, verso limited to twenty-six lettered and registered sets, this set letter "a," numerous water colored photo etchings, gilt page tops with uncut sides. (20 vols) 9" x 6" Condition Report Good to very good condition with light wear along edges, corners and boards, light normal browning of pages, illustrations have onion paper covers, paper is uncut on sides and a bit dry, very little foxing and some pages throughout have not been opened. A hard to find set in such good shape of beautifully gilt-tooled and leather bound volumes.? Simpson Galleries strongly encourages in-person inspection of items by the bidder.
