A huge limestone cylinder seal with high-relief scene of a hero in profile gripping the neck and tail of a rearing ibex, second profile winged figure formed from the conjoined bodies of two rearing animals, objects in the field; accompanied by a museum-quality impression. 72 grams, 58mm (2 1/4"). The Signo collection, the property of a West London businessman, formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s; academically researched and catalogued by the late Professor Lambert in the early 1990s.
