A giltwood mirror backed settle, in the Renaissance style, 20th Century and later, the back carved with four herm figures, the whole with strapwork and scrolling decoration, approximately 248cm high, 238cm wide, 45cm deep
Condition Report:
Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use,
The gilt surfaces with wear and rubbing and also some chips and losses revealing underlying composition and timber in places. Some dirt and discolouration to gilt areas too.
Old splits and cracks and openings to joints,
As catalogued this is 20th century and later, there are later adaptions and adjustments too such as later brackets to the rear, this also appears to be lacking some elements such as the seat for the base, and the ends appears that the panels should contain some decoration - these are absent at present. The purchaser would need to source these elements and arrange the repairs/restorations.
It is dismantled at present, it is stored off site and is broken down in the relevant pieces - cornice, four uprights, two mirror panels and the base section.
The mirror plates with losses and depletions, some chips and losses to edges and extremities - the image in the catalogue is not a true representation or reflection of the mirror plates
