Description Rare Chinese Song Dynasty ice type ware brush washer bowl. Potted of a flat and circular with a straight lip and a shallow draft. Covered in a pale olive grayish glaze with a brownish hue. Shows a single network of wide dark grey crackles with white patches along the surfaces, and a darker lining at the top of rim. Includes fitted carved hardwood display stand. Measures approx. 1 1/4" height x 3 1/8" diameter (3.2cm x 7.9cm).Measures approx. 2 3/8" height (6cm) overall including base. Provenance: Professor Wu Jilu's Chinese porcelain collection of Sung & Ming Dynasty ceramics. Prof Wu Jilu was a professor in Chinese Literature, and an avidcollector of Chinese porcelain antiques, esp. those with strong Sung Dynasty style & flavor. He had a collection of over 100 items from China?s Sung, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. He had bought most of thosecollections from various antiques shops and small auction houses across the world over the past 25 years. Some his antique collections were auctioned by major auction houses, such as Sotheby?s and China?s
