Description A Koyao pear form porcelain vase. The compressed glubular body gracefully rising to a gently tapering cylindrical neck. Covered overall with a pale beige glaze suffused with a network of dark gray and russet browncrackles. Includes fitted hardwood stand. Vase measures approx. 5 1/2" height (14cm). Measures approx. 6 1/4" height (15.9cm) overall including base. Provenance: Professor Wu Jilu's Chinese porcelaincollection of Sung & Ming Dynasty ceramics. Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. Piccus Collections and retains label. Spink & Son Ltd., and retains label. Prof Wu Jilu was a professor in Chinese Literature, and an avid collectorof Chinese porcelain antiques, esp. those with strong Sung Dynasty style & flavor. He had a collection of over 100 items from China?s Sung, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. He had bought most of those collections fromvarious antiques shops and small auction houses across the world over the past 25 years.
