Description Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, blue and white helmet jar. Potted in cylinder vessel, jar shape, large, having thick and tall potted body, sturdily potted in a bulbous body, ovoid belly, heavy on shoulder gently tapered on short neck toward opening mouth prominent, helmet dome lid with finial bud, and raised on flat round foot base. The exterior decorated with hand-painting in cobalt blue underglazed, depicted of peony flowers blooms and abundant lychee tree above thrashing wavy lishui water and enclosed with ruyi shaped large pendants filled by scrolling clouds, interspersed by floral and fruiting banquets.
