Description Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Qianlong blue & white wrapped floral double gourd vase. Potted in a shape of double gourd resemblance, with two bulbous bellies conjoined together, suspending a tall cylindrical neck, bulbous lower section finishing into a slight ovoid neck, with a narrow opening lip, raised on small round flat base rim. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt blue fine color. The main body and the upper body adorned with flowers blooms interspersed scrolling interlocking tendril and foliage, enclosed with repeating taotie mask. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the underglaze grayish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six underglaze blue script characters reign mark, Made In The Years of Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
