Description Lustrous, Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, famous JiaQing pomegranate bowls on zitan stand. The porcelain potted with a shallow body, slight deep, broad cavetto, with slight flaring opening lip, raised on a small round, with concave footing. The exterior hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white underglazed base color which contrast against enamel design famille rose translates to the pink family on a colored ground decoration, depicted of ripe pomegranate with vivid tones flowers blooms interspersed fresh green foliage. Elegancy come with tall zitan hardwood stand carved with scrolling ruyi and Auspicious motif. The Elaborately carved zitan hardwood frame perfectly accentuates this work of art. The Lines of the drawings are clear, the light and dark shades are subtle. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye. The porcelain conformed all required specimen to be high valued Chinese porcelain wares, with finest material, the whiteness, the glaze, and the carving. Without overlap the outlines of the design, well carved, clear, subtle, distinct, and the shape is uniformly proportioned. Mark on under base, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, JiaQing Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.

Notes PROVENANCE: From Private collections of Mr. Peter Lyon (1938-2016), After graduation in 1959 he joined the military and was trained as a fighter pilot for the Marine corp. Retiring from the military his next career was as a commercial pilot for Pan American and United Airlines flying 747 aircraft in the pacific and orient. During his layovers he searched for fine porcelains which he proudly added to his private collection. A portion of his collection is being sold at auction to benefit his charitable interests.
