Peter Fuhring attributes both drawings to the architect and engineer Barthélemy Jeanson who lived in Belgium during the French Revolution but returned to France afterwards. He adds that almost nothing is known of Jeanson's work in interior decoration and it is possible that the designs may be by another member of the family.
