China, 18th-19th century. The interior with an inscription of two lines of seal script characters. With a pierced hardwood cover, possibly huanghuali, decorated with three ruyi heads and surmounted by a celadon jade bi disk finial carved to one side with a chilong and a trigram, as well as an old zitan wood base finely carved in openwork, the ensemble altogether of the period.
