Description 13th-9th century BC. A substantial white jasper cylinder seal with spearman; accompanied by a museum-quality impression and typed and signed scholarly note issued by W.G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham, 1970-1993, which states: 'Cylinder Seal of Cream Stone 36 x 16 mm. The design shows a nude man, standing, holding a spear in each hand, with one of which he is spearing the back of a prancing feline, depicted vertically. There are two filling items, one a sort of a triangle, the other perhaps depicting a fleeing animal in the distance. A tree forms a terminal. This comes from Iran or west central Asia and dates to c. 1300-900 B.C. It is a rare type and in very good condition.' 12 grams, 36mm (1 1/2").
