Description 4th-3rd millennium BC. A white jasper cylinder seal with temple; accompanied by a museum-quality impression and typed and signed scholarly note issued by W.G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham, 1970-1993, which states: 'Cylinder Seal of White Marble 17 x 14 mm. The design shows a decorated temple facade, a standing horned animal, and a tree or bush. This is a Sumerian Jemdet Nasr seal, c.3000 B.C. It is nicely cut and in very good condition. As often with Jemdet Nasr seals, the drilling has been begun at one end, but not completed.' 6.92 grams, 17mm (3/4").
