Description 19th century AD or earlier. A gilt bronze Buddha within a shrine, seated on a circular lotus throne standing on a rectangular tiered base; Buddha in the Karana mudra pose, signifying warding-off evil; with flaming aureole behind, elaborate figural canopy above, with hanging dragons with pendant to the centre on either side. 3.5 kg, 42cm (16 1/2").
