Description A STUNNING SILVER POCKET SIZE SNUFF BOX BY SILVERSMITH A G WIGHTON OF EDINBURGH, engraved to lid 'The Grenadier Comp'y 4th Regt. N B (North British) Militia to Lieut. D Morison as a testimony of their esteem 27th April 1802', the box quite heavy with ribbed sides, machine tooled base and silver gilt interior, the maker's mark displayed three times on the box and three times on the inside lid.
Condition Report In excellent condition throughout, the upper lid with light scratch marking due to use but in surprisingly good order, presumably having seen little or no use. Wighton is recorded as working in Edinburgh during the early half of the 19th century.
