A George III mahogany tea caddy, of sarcophagus form, set with ivory escutcheon, hinged cover to two fitted lidded compartments, raised on four bun feet, 13.5cm H x 19cm W x 11cm D, together with a further two writing slopes, 19th century, largest 13.5cm H x 30cm W x 23cm D and two Japanese interest boxes, one with carved foliage to exterior, 8cm high and the other designed with river landscape, 22cm wide (5)Minor loss to the corner of the tea caddy and marks to the exterior. Inside one compartment can be found a silver tea shovel by John Thornton, London 1812. The interior compartment linings are worn. Each of the writing slopes are fairly worn, please see additional images.
