Description A Chinese 7-panel wood table screen inlaid with gilt white jade plaques dating from the 19th century. The jade plaques feature scenes of birds and flowers, with two of the plaques containing a 5-character calligraphy couplet. The wood panels are carved with scenes of flowers and figures, and carved guardian lion accents flank either end of the screen. Dimensions are: the jade plaques measure 4 inches tall X 1 1/2 inches wide, 10.2 cm X 3.8 cm, while the screen measures 9 1/2 inches tall X 17 1/4 inches wide, 24.1 cm X 43.8 cm. Condition Report There are cracking and chips to the wood. There is wear to the gilt on the jades.
