Description A pair of Chinese blue and white bowls dating from the Kangxi period. The interiors of the bowls feature a landscape roundel, and the exteriors feature incised and glazed flowers and butterflies. Dimensions are: 3 1/2 inches tall X 7 1/2 inches wide, 8.9 cm X 19.1 cm. Condition Report One bowl has rim chips. The other has an abnormal coating on its interior and exterior surfaces.
Provenance Both bowls were sold as part of the Hatcher collection at Christie's in 1984. From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area. The items were acquired from various auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's prior to the 1990s.
