Description A group of four pairs of miniature Chinese famille rose vases dating from the Republic period. The lot includes: a pair of green-ground vases with flowers and incised tracery; a pair of turquoise-ground vases with lotus tracery and two roundels of flowers; a pair of eggshell porcelain vases featuring birds with flowers and bamboo and a 4-character mark on the base; and a pair of long-necked vases with a purple flower, a pair of butterflies, and a 4-character mark on the base. Dimensions are: The largest long-necked vases measure 2 3/4 inches tall X 1 1/2 inches wide, 7 cm X 3.8 cm. All measurements are approximate.

Condition Report One of the eggshell vases has been repaired on the body. The rest of the vases are in good condition.
Provenance The turquoise-ground vases come with a Sloans and Kenyon sticker. From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area. The items were acquired from various auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's prior to the 1990s.
