Description An Imperial Chinese turquoise-ground famille rose square base originally used as a stand for a stupa or pagoda, dating from the Qianlong period. There is floral tracery throughout with a ruyi and Greek key border around the base. Dimensions are: 3 inches tall X 7 1/4 inches wide, 7.6 cm X 18.4 cm. All measurements are approximate.

Condition Report It is cracked and overpainted in multiple areas. The bottom is broken with an area of significant loss.
Provenance From Mrs. Clark in San Diego, California. A family heirloom.
Notes Reference: A similar famille rose stand, but with a white ground and with its stupa still intact, can be found at the National Palace Museum in Beijing.
