Description A Chinese blanc de chine standing Guanyin dating from the 18th century. Guanyin stands barefoot on a wave base while wearing thick robes. Her hair is pulled up into a large bun with a ruyi pin. Her hands are held close in front of her. Dimensions are: 18 1/2 inches tall X 5 inches wide, 47 cm X 12.7 cm. Condition Report There is a half inch firing crack to the back of the robe. There is a quarter inch repair to the edge of the robe. Both hands and areas on the back of the robe have been repaired. The bottom is filled in.

Notes Reference: A similar standing blanc-de-chine Guanyin by He Chaochun was sold at Bonham's London on November 9, 2017, as lot 73. The British Museum in London has a similar standing blanc-de-chine Guanyin by He Chaochun under the collection number 1980,0728.695. A Blanc de Chine figure of Guanyin can be found in the collection of the Minneapolis Institute of Art under accession number 87.71.1.
