Description A pair of Chinese cloisonne jardinieres dating from the early 19th century. They feature birds and insects among flowers and branches on a white, linear ground. There is a band of ruyi around the mouths of the jars, and a Greek key border around the bases. Dimensions are: 5 7/8 inches tall X 9 7/8 inches wide, 14.9 cm X 25.1 cm. Condition Report One jardiniere has chipping to the enamel and splitting of the metal around the base. The other jardiniere has several small dents to the rim, one area of cracking to the enamel, and several abrasions.
