Description A Chinese watercolor and ink painting on paper of an egret in a lotus pond attributed to Gao Qipei. It has an inscription, two seals, and is mounted on a silk backing with silk dowels. Dimensions are: 37 1/2 inches tall X 17 1/4 inches wide, 95.3 cm X 43.8 cm. All measurements are approximate.

Condition Report It has water damage and staining. There is severe creasing and a tear near the bottom.
Provenance From a private collection in Northern Virginia. The collector is of Russian descent but was born in Harbin, China, in 1935. Following the end of WWII, her family moved to Shanghai and stayed there until 1952 when they relocated to Hong Kong. These items were acquired during the family's time in Shanghai from private collections and art auctions. When the family moved to the US in the late 1950s, they brought their collection with them.
