This deposit will be refunded to the non winning bidders in approx. 7 business days. Winning bidders will have 7 days to make payment in full in order to be released from the verification charge.

PROVENANCE: From the Collections of Henry Windermere (1932- 2018) Covington, Georgia, served US Army for more than 28 years, retiring as a colonel. His received many military medals. He then became Westminster Services training coordinator and working as a program director for a defense contractor based in Xianggang China. Among his varied interests and passions were collecting Chinese art pieces.Dimensions (cm): Diameter: 43 Height: 7Chinese Blue & white Porcelain Plate. The porcelain potted in shallow vessel form, thick and large, with broad wide central interior, rounded cavetto gently tapering to open wide, with a straight open lip and flori form mouth rim, raised with round shallow draft, slight concave base. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white under glazed base color which contrast against the cobalt blue fine color. The Central interior depicted of magpie bird hanging on the sturdy branch tree with feeding ripe fruits. The exterior wall decorated with flowers blooms interspersed interlocking tendril and foliage. Each section mark off and enclosed with double fine blue rings lines. Blue and white porcelain in Chinese it is called Qing Hua Ci. It is the most important variety of China’s porcelain. It was originated in the Yuan Dynasty. Its color does not easily fade and durability is longer. It used cobaltous oxide as the colorant. Patterns were directly painted onto the inner body and burnt after glaze was applied on it. The glaze is seamless and gives off a beautiful luster, with the colors maintaining excellent vibrancy. The foot base rim reveals the cut edges during the making process, the base left unglazed with grayish creme-brown ground and dark spots of firing marks.
