Description A RARE CHINESE YUEYAO JAR NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (960-1127)
The octagonal section jar decorated with shaped reserves containing sprays of peony blossom and foliage, surrounded by incised scrolling foliage, with incised lotus petal design around the neck. The whole covered in a olive-grey-green coloured glaze. Pontil marks to the base from the firing.

Restoration to four of the sides, to the neck and to the foot rim. The mouth has been replaced with another piece. Hairline cracks and glaze crazing.
