Description Yao Applique Saddle Cushion. With graphically bold applique, northern Laos or Thailand, early 20th century. Size: 33.5'' x 30'', (85 x 76 cm). During the wedding festivities the bride comes by horseback into the village of her prospective husband seated on a blanket covered by this cotton cover decorated with auspicious appliqued symbols.
