A deed box containing an extensive collection of 19th-century indentures, settlements, conveyances, leases, wills, mortgages, property tax documents, manuscript account books, and other documents, predominantly?relating to the Lampard family of Warminster (Wiltshire) and Birmingham, some other names present, including Sir Francis Dugdale Astley, Randall, Harvey. To include a?small quantity of assorted Postal History, including two 1842 Penny Reds on covers, and a letter postmarked Lyndoch Valley, South Australia, 5 March 1852, in which the author describes the gold rush, 'I expect that in two more months nearly all the men and a few women will have left this colony for the Melbourne Gold Fields. Thousands of persons goes overland & thousands go by water. All classes are off to the diggers...60 persons last week returned from the Diggings bringing twenty five thousand pounds worth of that trash called gold.' To also include a quantity of?Fire Office receipts (including Sun, Norwich Union, Salamander), an Imperial Fire Insurance certificate (Policy No. 298, 847, dated 25 March 1861), and a United Grand Lodge certificate for Jacob Lampard, 1871
