19th C. Bronze Hunting Dog Signed P J Mene: A 19th century bronze sculpture of a pointer straining against a leash tied to a nearby stump. It is stamped with the signature of P.J. Mene, a French sculptor primarily known for his images of wildlife and working animals. The dog’s shoulder also bears a foundry mark in the shape of an inverted triangle inscribed with a cross.
The dog is depicted straining against his leash, with great care given to the physiology of the animal, whose muscles strain against the weight of the stump. The flawless details of its feet, tail and panting tongue demonstrate the sculptor’s virtuosity in his medium. 10" high, 13" long Shipping: We are able to pack and ship this item to an address in the United States for $50.00 via USPS Priority Mail or via FedEx Ground/Home Delivery.
