An archaistic beige-celadon jade vase

清十九世紀 青玉雕仿古饕餮紋觶
of pear shape and oval section, resting on a tall spreading foot with the voluminous lower body tapering at the neck and then expanding slightly at the mouth, the body wrapped in a wide band of archaistic taotie against a leiwen ground, the neck encircled by raised filets and three rows of bosses below a band of upright lappets, the bases of the lappets terminating in stylized kuilong heads, the foot carved in low relief with confronting kuilong, the stone a pale grayish-beige celadon
