About the artist: Crimean painter. Landscape painter.
Strelov Arkady Efimovich was born in 1923 in the village of Shukhra, Ivanovo Region. Here, among the expanse meadows and arable lands with shady, cool copses, the first years of the artist's life passed. After graduating from a vocational school in Ivanovo, he worked as a turner in a factory.
In 1942 he went to the front, fought near Stalingrad, on the Kursk Bulge, and was wounded twice. Victorious May 1945 rifle platoon commander, junior lieutenant Arkady Strelov, awarded the Order of the Red Star and military medals, met in Prague.
Demobilized, he entered the Ivanovo Art College, where his teachers were experienced teachers I.D. Kalashnikov, M.I. Malyutin. Communication with them strengthened the commitment to the traditions of the Russian school of realistic landscape painting with its deep imaginative content. In 1950, he graduated from college and came to Yalta.
The originality of the Crimean landscape, penetrated by sunlight, which reveals the purity and consonance of the natural color shades of nature in their tonal unity, changed the artist’s creative style.
The canvases, written in 60-70 years, are built on a harmonious combination and subtle nuances of a few gray-green and blue tones, air appears in them, depriving the volumes of frozen harshness.
The shooter-landscape painter created his own, unique to him figurative world, which draws the viewer into the sphere of kind and bright lyrical feelings, marked by the integrity of his attitude to nature.
Since 1958, he is a participant in national and all-Union exhibitions. His works were exhibited in Hungary, Canada, Poland, Switzerland, Japan, USA, Greece, Holland.
Since 1961 Strelov A.F. is a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
Arrows traveled a lot around the country. He visited the Arctic, on the Kola Peninsula, walked on foot to the Ivanovo and Vladimir regions.
Arkady Strelov lived and worked in Yalta.
His works are in museum and private collections in Ukraine, Russia and other countries.
