Description Of rectangular shape supported on corner bracket feet with raised boss below the rim with pair tabs. Covered to interior and exterior with opaque glaze suffused with iron color crackles joined by finer goldencrackles. Measures approx. 5.5" in diameter (13.9cm). Provenance: Professor Wu Jilu's Chinese porcelain collection of Sung & Ming Dynasty ceramics. Prof Wu Jilu was a professor in Chinese Literature, and an avidcollector of Chinese porcelain antiques, esp. those with strong Sung Dynasty style & flavor. He had a collection of over 100 items from China?s Sung, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. He had bought most of thosecollections from various antiques shops and small auction houses across the world over the past 25 years. Some his antique collections were auctioned by major auction houses, such as Sotheby?s and China?sGuardian Auction, Hong Kong. Acquired from the Sidney L. Moss in WI.
